Sometimes I just want to make something really simple like Rice Krispie Squares. Easy to make and even easier to eat! I would hardly even call this a recipe. It’s a good one though as dark chocolate and peanut butter make it slightly more adult and even more indulgent.
While we are now officially into Autumn, there is still the odd opportunity for a picnic – these make a perfect snack to bring along.
right, you need:
40g unsalted butter
100g peanut butter
300g white marshmellows
150g dark chocolate
300g rice krispies
handful of salted peanuts
Method:
You probably can guess this one!
Grab a large bowl and pop your rice krispies in.
In a saucepan, melt the butter, peanut butter and marshmellows together until smooth.
Pour this sticky mixture into the bowl with the rice krispies and mix thoroughly.
Once all the cereal has been coated in the sweet mix, throw in your handful of peanuts and mix one more time.
Get yourself a lined baking tray (I tend to pick smallish ones so the squares are good and thick when cut) and spoon your mixture in.
Use the back of a metal spoon to press down the mix making it level.
Pop this into the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set.
Once it has set, melt the dark chocolate and drizzle it all over the krispies.
Allow the chocolate to set fully and then cut into squares while still in their tin. If you take them out before cutting, it makes it harder to get even sizes that stick together.
I told you this was an easy one guys – you’re done! These Rise Kirspie Squares are great washed down with flasks of tea.
