Bit of French Toast. Calm the nerves.

Happy Sunday Everyone! I am pure exhausted today after going out last night so am still in my pyjamas. So snug. Although I have been back in Ireland since the end of June, I haven’t had a chance at all to kind of get out and about. My time has mostly been split between work (July’s theme after all..) and house hunting. The hunt for a new gaff is still on unfortunately. I’m really hoping that this week will be the one as I’m running out of time. It’s just one of these things that’s always a bit of a nightmare but the price of Dublin is just a joke, especially for the standard of the houses.

Yesterday anyways I was just so fed up with it all, I decided to take myself out to Avoca and have a big breakfast all to myself for a bit of peace and happiness. And it was glorious! If any one my English friends (hi you guys) are reading this then you mightn’t know what Avoca is but basically, it is heaven. A place filled with such lovely things and great food and shockingly high prices. I remember the first time I ever went into an Avoca store and just loved it straight away.

I originally wanted pancakes but love me some caramelised apples (stewed apples as my mum would say) so went with the French Toast instead. They even put my latte in a mug like I like. It’s been so sunny this week up in Dublin so even sat outside! I had so many whippy cones this week in carparks alone, it’s like my new hobby. I can’t wait until my boyfriend is back because at least I can force him to come sit with me!

I’m looking forward to getting to Avoca a little more often now I’m back. Not necessarily to buy things all the time, but definitely to get ideas and inspiration. They also sell my favourite Seymour’s Chocolate and Hazelnut Biscuits though so might need to stock up from time to time. If you can’t get your hands on them, try my version at home as they are so simple to make. Once I get my own kitchen again, I’ll be revisiting this recipe.

I suppose for the rest of the day now I’ll just nap, panic about house hunting and eat.

Happy Sunday again,
